Even though it is technically possible, having directory/vocabulary entries containing only whitespace(s) in id field is not useable in a UI.
How to reproduce:
- Login with admin user
- Open the Administration drawer and click on Vocabularies
- select a vocabulary
- click on the ADD ENTRY button
- enter only whitespace(s) in the ID field and click the SAVE button
It is difficult to see the difference between a vocabulary entry with an ID with 1 whitespace and one with 2 whitespaces.
