Case Item - Document_date is defined as text when it should be date

Document date for Case Item in Studio, when used in a layout the following validation error is shown:

widget 'Document date (document_date)': bound field type 'document_date' is not supported by the chosen widget type 'text' for field 'document_date' in schema 'case_item'
