Investigation - Make code input text areas in Studio height of page

Scope 

Timeboxed investigation as to the below issue. The goal of this investigation is to 

• Understand to components that are concerned (see below the hierarchy, focus is on XML extensions, Automation Chains**)
• Understand the risks associated with this change
• Understand the best way to implement this change
• Gather the necessary inputs to make a go/ no go decision  

Outcome => Go or no go 

 

Issue

There are many manual input fields  in Studio 

They are small, tend to be < half the page which leads to a poor experience of constantly having to scroll within. 

This is becoming more problematic as more complex projects, with more items within Studio USED WITH LARGE SCREENS

 

This is particularly an issue for XML extensions, 

Also, Automation Chains,  do not use the full length of the screen, which is not ideal, we need larger screen to test 

Mail Templates, Web Services Filtering, Deployment Extensions make better use of the space

and this is less relevant for features that have an 'ending' such as manual Elastic Search Mapping

  

 > Automation Scripting, not manual entry box but still limited in height for no clear reason

To Do

 

1. Make the code screen longer (and eventually larger)

XML extensions, ensure screens like Automation Scripting are aligned, and somewhat aligned to other similar elements  

 

2. Lengthen Automation Chains screen 

 

 

Discussion

Can we give other options very quickly and easily? Such as a full-screen mode, or a basic search function

 

Commit Screen, make more legible

 

Also, scrolling often does not activate on modeller side menus (for example when configuring a page provider) ensure that this behaviour is present modeller side
