Ability to close the left column

When editing a layout it might be relevant to have a zen mode to stay focus on your configuration.
The left column should be collapsible.
The area to open and close the button should be narrow but should have a tall height (1/3 all the full height of the bar ~) so that the user doesn't struggle with a tiny tiny button.
