Installing an update sometimes fails with a stacktrace

      Description

      From a pristine 5.4.2 DM instance:

      1. Install HF00. It seems OK.

      2. Install HF01. The attached stacktrace appears in the window.

      At this point, it is not clear what to do. Has the hotfix been installed of not? If I uninstall it and reinstall it, I end up with a borked installation (that unborks itself after a reboot, seemingly, though).
