picture resizing fails (all renditions are same size) with 2023.13.9

we are using presales docker image that pulls the "latest" nuxeo version. on instances based on 2023.13.9, when uploading pictures, the default renditions are all the same size (that of the main file). the same image works as expected on nightly, which, as of 3rd July, 2024 is using 2023.12.6. we saw this on numerous instances created with this version.
