UI/UX improvements to the document history/audit

as part of our product awareness meetings, we discussed some frequent feedback about the document audit/history and usability. In looking into some of the requests, we noticed quite a few support/bug/improvement tickets around the topic (and going back a long time, admittedly). As we worked on the retention add-on we identified some work that would allow us to also address some of the feedback in these tickets.
