Direct edit issue in Chrome on mac on files with space in title/name

We had a reproducible issue on many computers on a single instance (AWS) today. When trying to use direct edit on a file with spaces in the name, on Chrome, direct edit did not launch. You could see in the browser console that the request was made/sent, but there is no response in drive log or the server log.
It works in JSF, it works in FF (webui) it works on a PC, but does not work on Mac OSX using Chrome.

I can add a link to a sample, but we have a continuation of the demo tomorrow. : )
