When starting up the MariaDB configuration emits a spurious ERROR message:
2017-01-11 05:18:49,386 ERROR [http-bio-0.0.0.0-8080-exec-1] [org.nuxeo.launcher.config.ConfigurationGenerator] Inconsistent values between nuxeo.dbtemplate (mariadb) and nuxeo.db.type (mysql)
This is benign but prevents certain QA jobs from being successful because it's at ERROR level.
