Looking at screenshots and testing locally, the popup does freeze when clicking on the select2 field (reproduced with FF 26, FF 44, Chrome 48.0.2564.109).
When using FF, gnone-shell goes to 100% CPU, when using Chrome, it goes also to 100%.
This issue does not affect other jobs like test&push for now, issue on multibuild started happening consistently form 5th Feb. and issue on FT-webdriver on 15th Feb.
When using Chrome profile, the focus function seems to be playing a role (see attached profile).
Found a similar issue reported on an older Polymer version: https://github.com/Polymer/polymer/issues/1413
