When defining a layout instance, the templates to be used are always specified, and the associated behaviour (layout properties to handle layout template configuration behaviour) are implicit (and not documented).
Adding a notion of type on layout definitions declarations (similar to widget types for widget instances) would ease up declaring a layout supporting given features.
This would be useful for listing layouts (holding heavy configuration for CSV and PDF export management, and about to add some more for thumbnail logics for instance).
This would also be useful to clarify the model currently used by Studio (where some specific layout templates are used to handle specific logics part of the layout configuration generated by Studio, like widgets display or style class)
