Make release script push to github only when build is successful

      Description

      Currently the release script pushes branches and commits to github even if the build is not successful, this requires additional steps to retry when the build fails for some reason (remaining snapshot dependency for instance).

      This is important in conjunction with NXP-13971 (artifacts should not be deployed unless build is successful)
