Field "Send me a copy" in the invite by mail form is ignored

When using the user registration module, checking or not the "Send me a copy" field (see attached file) has no effect on the outcome : a copy is always sent to the user who filled the request.

I experienced this with the options for bypassing admin validation enabled. But when browsing the code it seems like the "copyOwner" field in the UserRegistrationActions class isn't used anywhere, so the issue probably happens in any context.
