Smart search on Path: make it possible to select folders in other domains than the current one

In the smart search on Path, there is a Browse button that displays a tree to select a folder. However the tree root is the current domain, so it's not possible to select a folder in an other domain.

Would it be possible to add a drop down list that enables to change domain, or to use the same tree as in the Relations Path option, which starts at the root of the server and displays all the domains?
