Workflow blob node variable default value breaks Nuxeo

Steps to replicate:

1. Create a new workflow
2. Add a node
3. Add a node variable of type String
4. Give the node variable a default value
5. Leaving the default value in place, change the type to Blob
6. Save and update your Nuxeo deployment

Now attempt to log in and you will be unable proceed past the login screen.
