Another approach to distribute Drive on GNU/Linux is to create a .AppImage. It is a self-contained binary that includes everything needed, exactly as we are doing with the .dmg on macOS and .exe on Windows.
I think it is a good solution because we are using up-to-date technologies like Python 3.6.6 and it is not yet available on LTS/stable distributions (even on testing ones). It is the same for Qt 5.11.
The website states:
As a user, I want to download an application from the original author, and run it on my Linux desktop system just like I would do with a Windows or Mac application.
As an application author, I want to provide packages for Linux desktop systems, without the need to get it 'into' a distribution and without having to build for gazillions of different distributions.
Which is exactly ours needs.
If we choose this option, then NXDRIVE-351 will be ignored.
