      Description

      The whole DAO part is currently quite big and could be rethinked using an ORM.
      There are also a number of issues regarding thread locking not well handled that an ORM could solve: http://docs.peewee-orm.com/en/latest/peewee/database.html#set-locking-mode-for-transaction
