The "Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler for Python 2.7" was required to build cx_Freeze and Crypto modules. But we got rid of them with NXDRIVE-730 and NXDRIVE-1132, respectively.
The goal is to update the documentation.
As a good side effect, it will finally allow us to build Drive on Windows 10+ (it was impossible before because of the obsolete cx_Freeze compilation process).
