Fix error when using Avro codec

      Description

      When using the Avro codec to encode/decode the records on the stream, there is an error when the consumer tries to decode the message:

      BadHeaderException: Unrecognized header bytes: 0xAC 0xED

      I switched to the java codec to keep going with the POC for NCS-9 but it would be better to switch back to Avro.
